Why People Get Married

Why People Get Married Perhaps, when you and your spouse are at odds with each other, you've asked yourself "Why not marry?" There are many possible causes, but one that has a choice to decide whether to marry or not marry. Throughout the history of civilization, this is a relatively recent development. The national origin of man-woman relationship is based on survival. The species can survive better if the hunter is still the men and women stayed at home, children, and raised the tendency of cultures, a purely economic. Later on, marriages were arranged by parents at birth. This part is designed to give the clan remained intact. A variant of this was to prevent the marriage of children outside the clan. On the other hand, if there is friction between two tribes, the heads of the two could arrange a marriage between a member from each one to strengthen the ties between them and ensure peace. Royal families in Europe, to continue this practice today by marriage between the promotion of rights of other countries. In some primitive cultures were daughters potential boyfriends trocar. The most attractive woman is worth more cows that are less attractive. In some parts of Africa, women can still be purchased as slaves. And the men of importance can have many wives. In all these examples, the participants had little or no choice of a spouse. When they did, they had little chance to choose. At any time the number of those principles and princesses are available? When the industrial revolution took place, the customs of the civilized world had dramatic changes. People are always more the number of ways to ea a living, and live their lives. The commitment replaces love as a prelude to marriage. People were expected to fall in love and live happily ever after. However, since no one knows what love is, the task becomes very confused. Sex is often confused with love. Therefore, when a party says: "Let us make love, he / she is talking about love or sex? When he took the post of puritans, it was easier. Sex before marriage was taboo. Therefore, the only way to have sex without feeling guilty was married. If a woman really wanted to marry, was able to maintain her virginity until her boyfriend agrees. Then in the marriage vows made before God and the whole world, both sides have committed themselves to be monogamous for life. All that has changed since the so-called sexual revolution and the movement for women's rights. Now the trend sermon sex without guilt, and virginity is no longer appreciated. Today, couples living together without marriage is quite common. It is a sort of trial marriage, but without the long-term commitment. Save money when the largest share of spending. Sex is available. And the agony of a bitter divorce is avoided. Too often, these agreements do not work, which shows the couple will live happily ever after. With all the reasons not to marry, it's a wonder why millions choose to trade their freedom for a marriage license. Obviously the answer varies from person to person. The successful marriage depends on each partner to meet the emotional needs of others, and needs vary from person to person. Surveys of couples who have lasting marriages cite qualities that are important, such as trust, care, friendship, compassion, security and affection. These were considered more important than freedom. A couple celebrate the anniversary of 80 years of marriage, said that the most important factor in their longevity is that talking with each other. Since nobody seems to have a better definition of "love", perhaps it is actually a combination of qualities mentioned above. Love is the reason why people choose to marry and, if continued, is the glue that holds marriages together. Copyright 2006 Robert T. Lewis
